The Best Hiking Trails in Andalucia

Andalusia is famous for its beaches, where everyone escapes to when the heat becomes unbearable in the city. However, laying in the sun is not the only activity that you can do in this wonderful region! There are a lot of amazing hiking trails that will take you to breathtaking views. Here are a few :)

Pangea Active Nature
Pangea Active Nature was created in 2001, taking advantage of the amazing opportunities offered by the Serranía de Ronda, in the heart of Andalusia. They operate their activities in 3 different natural parks: Sierra de Grazalema, Sierra de las Nieves and Los Alcornocales. They offer a wide range of different activities, from via ferratas to speleology and kayaking.

La Concha
There are probably no better and most amazing views of the Costa del Sol, the Sierra de las Nieves and Gibraltar (with a nice weather) than from the summit of La Concha. Peaking at 1200m, La Concha is the highest summit of the region of Marbella. A little advice: bring a lot of water, sunscreen and a charged mobile phone just in case :). In case you are an unexperienced hiker and you want to reach the summit, it’s better to contact a professional guide.

El Caminito del Rey
El Caminito del Rey is a walkway , pinned along the steep walls of a narrow gorge near Ardales in the province of Málaga. The walkway had fallen into disrepair and was partially closed for over a decade. After 4 yeas of extensive repairs, the walkway re-opened in 2015. It is advised to book it a looooong time in advance!

Picos de Mijas
Mijas Pueblo occupies an impressive location on one of the many hills of the Sierra de Mikas, amid a landscape of pine groves and offering unbelievable views of the Costa del Sol. The village is worth visiting and so are the mountains surrounding it! The Sierra de Mijas offers a very riche flora, fauna and amazing landscapes, all within a short distance from the coast.
